Shelley Lubben Dead at Age 50

Shelley Lubben obituary

Tulare County, CA -- Shelley Lubben, the controversial anti-porn crusader and founder of the Pink Cross Foundation was discovered dead Saturday morning, Feb. 9, of what 9-1-1 responders have called an apparent overdose. She was 50 years old.

Tulare County Sheriffs notified her parents via telephone shortly after arriving on the scene.

Shelley Lubben (1968-2019)

Mrs. Lubben had long claimed to be sober since the year 2000, saying that she had been miraculously cured of all her physical and mental infirmities after turning to God.

"He has completely restored me. I am totally free from drugs, alcohol, bad memories, mental illness, sexual trauma, guilt from the past, and everything from the old life. He even healed me from the non-curable disease herpes,” Shelley once proclaimed.

In reality, after falling off the wagon in 2005 and surrounding herself with enablers, she spiraled into a world of alcohol and prescription drug abuse which ravaged her body and mind.

On January 24, Ms. Lubben placed her 1974 Sierra Cabin Cruiser up for sale on craigslist, asking $3,500. In the description she noted, "There has been a lot of work on the boat and it's actually worth more but need to sell due to illness so am asking a much lower price than what I paid."

According to statements made in open court in Vista, Calif. on February 5, on the night previous Ms. Lubben was admitted to a hospital in San Diego for treatment of alcohol withdrawal. She returned to Tulare County after being discharged.

At the time of her death, Lubben resided in a Lemon Cove, Calif. trailer park. It was there that she was found unresponsive by a male friend who had thought she was sleeping.

He phoned 911 and began CPR, but when responders arrived they informed him that it was too late. Shelley Lubben was pronounced dead on the scene.

After examining Shelley's remains, and inspecting the scene, responders informed the friend, and later told Shelley's father and brother, that she had passed due to an apparent overdose. The Tulare County coroner will have the final word regarding the official cause of death.

There were three active restraining orders against Ms. Lubben at the time of her passing, a warrant was expected to be issued for her arrest in a criminal threat case, she was being sued by creditors, and had been named in a wrongful death action.

Lubben's scandal-plagued Pink Cross Foundation was shuttered in January 2016.

Shelley Lubben is survived by her parents; a younger sister and brother; two daughters; a grandson; and a boyfriend currently serving a California prison term for DUI hit-and-run Vehicular Manslaughter.

Ms. Lubben's eldest daughter Tiffany, a wedding photographer, passed away earlier in February, at age 30.

Shelley Lubben's remains were taken to the Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Ms. Lubben is to be cremated next week, and her ashes scattered. No obituary has been posted to the funeral home's website, and, at the request of her surviving daughters, no services are planned.

Please join me in praying that Shelley Lubben can now find the peace that eluded her in life, and that her victims can likewise find peace and relief.

  1. R.I.P SHELLY, I pray that you had the opportunity to make your life right in GODS eyes,But as for me and my son , I was terrified that he was going to get out and go running straitaway to her.He probably would have, with the hold she had on him,a very strong one at that,he literally is doing 12 yrs because he believes he's doing what any man would to protect the woman who he's in love with from going to prison herself,Shelly knew where she was when the gentleman was hit and killed, she'll take it to her grave , because it kept her inocent and blameless. I guess all I can do is forgive her,for all the destruction she brought into my sons life, and everyone else's, You know,I was shocked when my daughter in-law text me to let me that she had passed ,
and from a drug overdose ! Guess the BIBLE is true when it says "we will reap what we sew",RIP SHELLY ,And now,I know that I can set my worries aside. Joseph valleys Mother .

Isn't he doing 12 yrs because he was driving drunk and killed someone. Unless she was driving or forced him at gunpoint to take the wheel where she was is irrelevant...to his case. He may have gotten offered less time to rat her out but the DA and defendant can "plea agree" all day. In the end the judge has the final say at sentencing and there is no guarantee he would get less time if he did rat her out. Also 12 years of general population is better then doing 6 in solitary confinement. Prison rats do hard time and "he literally" just might not wanna be a goof (prison slang for rat.) I'm not defending this batshit nut but, like I said, unless he was forced or not driving, proving she was more involved doesn't make him any less guilty. You get that right? Now, if he wasn't driving, and you know this to be true, get your butt down to see him. Say "son, look Shelley's dead. You don't have to protect her anymore. Anyway, I brought something of yours she left for you" Reach in your purse/pocket and fiddle, like your searching for it and say "oh I forgot to ask, do you want your balls back?" He needs to get woke (understand) that doing someone he loves' prison time maybe what real men do but doing a dead woman's is flipping retarded. I know you love him. I have children of my own and feel for you ma'am. No parent wants to see their child in a situation like this. Thing is, he may be your child but he is not a child. He is a man and needs to be held responsible for his actions. I know this may sound harsh but "he literally" could be doing 12 years because he's a dumbass.

    3. Whatever his issues were at the time he met Shelley Lubben, Joe Valley's life went to hell as soon as Shelley got her hands on him. I cannot substitute my judgement for that of the judge who heard the case, but I do believe Shelley was complicit -- at a minimum she knew that he would often drive drunk but sent him out on errands anyway. The whole situation is heartbreaking.

Mr. Valley will be up for parole in May 2023.

"Ari, God wants me to give you a message.

When you fight against our good work, you fight against God, not humans. We are the ones who care about the health of performers and you care more about if you are heard.

You’ve been wanting attention since you were a very young boy. God saw that. God also saw the injustice done to you and He wants to heal you from that injustice.

You don’t have to be angry anymore. You don’t have to scrutinize everything that has breath. You don’t have to be the hero for a demonized industry. God has SO MUCH MORE for you.

This isn’t easy for me to do this because I am just a human but God wants me to love you. I actually pray for you often, even though it’s very hard for me because my flesh wants to fight with you. But I refuse to give in and fight with you.

I want to please God and love you. Is there any way you would meet me in Las Vegas on Saturday night for dinner?
I want the opportunity to speak with you myself.

Just like when you took the opportunity to film me at the Rainbow Club. Will you be courageous and meet with me in Vegas?

You are very courageous with your words against us but will you be as courageous to meet with me for dinner?

      No cameras. Just us.

God loves you Ari and I have tried hard to love you. I hope you will take me up on my invitation."

"My dearest Shelley, I have a message for you, too.

I gave you every chance in the world to do the decent thing, and to come clean once and for all. Had you done that, I would have embraced you like a sister and supported you.

But I knew that you would never do it, for that is not your destiny.

You’re weak, Shelley; I understand. You’re a damaged, hurt little girl with a fractured mind and a tortured, addiction-ravaged soul. All the nonsense that you just wrote about me as a child is your own projection. It’s YOU, Shelley — right out of your own book. It’s so sad. Everyone in the world can see it but you.

You have sinned, Shelley, You have spit in the face of every thoughtful, honest, caring, trusting person on this planet, you have acted dishonorably, you have betrayed and abused others, you have lied and blasphemed — and worst of all, you did it in G-d’s name.

Shelley, oh Shelley, I am so sorry but there is not one thing that you can EVER do or say that will stop me from pursuing righteous justice against you. To do that would be to sin — to sin against you, my poor sister, and to sin against G-d’s Holy Word.

Shelley, I will see you humiliated and ruined (these revelations about what the sodomites at AHF really think about you is only the beginning). You will face legal action after legal action. You will be forced to sell all your ill-gotten possessions. Your ministry of fear will crumble like the walls of Jericho, ground into dust and scattered in the wind.

But unlike you, who danced when AIM was shuttered, I will not gloat. I will quietly pray and I will know that I have done God’s will.

And do you know who will be standing beside me, praying? Your own family, Shelley. Your parents and your brother, whom you have punished by denying them the chance to love your children because they dared speak the truth about you. You are so sick that you call the truth blasphemy against the Gospel of jesus Christ when it does not fit your self-created myth.

You are a weak backslider, Shelley. But no one has can rightly forgive you until you forgive yourself. You are so weak Shelley, but I am going to help you.

You could say that we two are alike Shelley. We both undertook a self-proclaimed calling. We were drawn toward each other, Shelley; can’t you see that? We are like magnets, you and I. It was planned that we meet. I am the fulfillment of your destiny. I am your shepherd. I am your destroyer.

I AM THE PATH TO YOUR REDEMPTION.

You will have nothing, Shelley; you will be humbled and then you will be free. All the sycophants that you currently pay to be around you will fall away, and you will finally be free. Praise G-d you will be free!

It has been a terrible burden having to think about you — to listen to slur your lies in that Bobcat Goldthwait rasp; to read your blasphemy and libels; to watch you stumble and mumble and sputter, and make a public spectacle of yourself again and again; to subject yourself to painful scorn and ridicule; to have to hide the fact that you needed to spend time in a mental ward in February, and then in rehab this summer; to watch you alter and distort your body and face in the name of vanity — always searching for something you can never have, always trying to fill that un-fillable hole inside you.

It hurt me to see you like that, Shelley, because I know how much you are hurting inside. G-d showed that to me, Shelley, and He showed me what I had to do. That has been MY cross to bear, if you like. I did it not to be a hero for an industry that your illness prevents you from consciously admitting you are still drawn to — I did it out of love, Shelley. Out of the greatest love there is — G-d’s love for all of us.

There will be no compromise, there will be no olive branch — there will be a reckoning, Shelley.

      A reckoning.

That is what G-d wants for you. Pray Shelley — not that my justice does not find you; pray that it does."

      That is crazy af dude

    1. That's like asking a newspaper, "why are you so obsessed with reporting the news?" Dozens of people have contacted me over the years, I research and report their stories and tips. This is a woman who claimed to be a saved Christian and a prophet -- literally the reincarnation of the prophet Elijah. The fact that she was an addict who cheated on her husband, then lied on the stand to try to frame him, and whose home burned to the ground in a drug lab explosion, is quite relevant in my opinion.

In part she merited the attention because she went out of her way to lie about me -- she claimed I was a satanist in the employ of the porn industry, or an atheist out to destroy Christianity, and many other lies. In the end I won. I got to write her obituary, not the other way around.

    2. You are correct MW. She provoked and attacked you. I would have been angry too. I think initially in the beginning she meant well, but it all spiraled when she her narcissism showed and you know the rest of the story from there. I still need to find the information on Tiffanys death.

  12. In the beginning Shelley had a good heart. She did. This is all so painfully sad. I think money got to her. I also believe there could have been some mental issues there that we will never know for sure. Shelley helped a lot of people. She also was somewhat manipulative, Okay, a lot manipulative. She was either someone's best buddy or totally cut them off. It was the funniest highest of highs with her or the lowest of low times with her, yet one kept getting drawn back. I am sad about what could have been. I still have some good memories and some very bad ones. We were always afraid she would out us. She told everyone everyone elses business. The last time she took my business to others I totally cut her off and walked away as I no longer could trust her. I am still trying to deal with this and I still cry. I am concerned because honestly I hope she made her peace with God. If she was to have found out about Tiffany it could have pushed her over the edge. She use to tell me that Tiffany was fat because she was lazy. I got on her for saying that. I think she expected people to be perfect and when they weren't she had no filter in her words. In the end, I wish this production would just stop. What good will its production do? It may give people a voice to be heard. Or it could hurt people like Abby, Teresa and her parents. Can't we just stop all the madness and let this go? It's time.....at this point as someone else said in another matter "What difference does it makes?"

    1. No, we can't. There are important lessons to be learned from this wasted life -- about greed, pride and vanity, and about the gullibility and manipulability of people who say they want to "help" but who rally want a pageant of self-pity, confession and alleged conversion. Her life was a show, a concoction, and a fabrication, and audiences -- acting on emotions and belief, not intellect -- ate it up.

Moreover, Shelley's malicious lies are still being circulated on the internet, and among her mind-numbed robotic followers. The truth is the best disinfectant.

As for potentially hurting Shelley's family, Shelley is the one who lied about them and dragged them into the media spotlight, not I. I am the one who shared their story with the world while she was calling them abusive liars. My duty is to the truth, not to any individuals' sensitivities.

I have to laugh at you writing that you "believe there could have been some mental issues there that we will never know for sure." Really? We'll never know? Wake up. Shelley herself admitted to serious mental health issues. She was on psych meds for years. But she refused to get help, and instead tormented and abused those around her, including and especially her own daughters and husband.

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPtMvyv_HBY

Finally, I see no evidence that Shelley ever had a good heart. She was a self-proclaimed expert manipulator, professional liar, con artist and hustler. She prided herself on these attributes throughout her life.

I'm not glad she's dead; I had hoped she would come around, acknowledge her problems, get help, try to make amends, and seek forgiveness. Unfortunately, it was not to be. But her death doesn't change who she was or the evil she wrought. If anything, her passing highlights her wasted life and demands an examination of her deeds.

Abby and Teresa did not put themselves in the spotlight even if their Mom did. I hope this film does not push them into doing something foolish they are 19-21 and need space to heal and privacy. They have lost a mom who was the only mom they had bad or not and a sister. I am done here but it needed to be said. Prayers to the Lubben family, and Tiffany's husband and son for healing.

  14. Could it have been suicide?

    ReplyDelete
  15. According to the gentleman who found her, no -- he says there was no note, and that they watched and laughed at the Jimmy Fallon show before she went to bed. Is is possible he's covering for his friend? I suppose it's possible. But, absent some bombshell discovery it appears not to be a suicide.

I personally don't think someone like Shelley would intentionally kill herself. She loved herself too much. She was the type who kept doubling down -- thus the threatening phone calls to people who had restraining orders against her -- and who believed she could talk her way out of anything.

    ReplyDelete

    1. In many of her talks, she did say that she attempted suicide in her past multiple times. Of course, that doesn't mean she tried to commit suicide this time though. The recent death of her daughter, however, would make me think that it was a suicide.

      Delete
    2. Except there's ample evidence that she did not know about her daughter's death. She was alienated from her entire family. Her youngest daughters found out about it a few days before Shelley died, but they didn't tell her.

    3. Oh yeah..I don't think Shelley would have killed herself over her daughter dying, instead, she would have used it to try to milk money out of her followers. I was wondering if she actually even knew that her daughter died and now you have confirmed what I suspected.

  19. Obviously, you have put in a lot of hard work and effort into exposing Shelly Lubben for what she really was. The whole project, from the documentary to discussions on social media platforms, has been very enlightening. It is always good to see documentary film makers picking up the important issues in today’s society. Good investigative journalism is the backbone of a free democratic society. After watching the documentary in its entirely I feel I have a much better understanding of who you are what you wanted to accomplish (Yes, I learned quite a few things about Shelly as well). If there was ever any doubt as to the purpose or intention of your project you have certainly have clarified it in your comments on social media, which is, as you say, to expose the lies of Shelly Lubben. “Truth is the best disinfectant”, as you so eloquently put it. Thank you for you vigilant pursuit of truth, very admirable. I, for one, and undoubtedly many others have learned “important lessons about a wasted life” (you list a few just in case we missed them). In closing, I think there might be something else we can learn from this.

“In the end I won. I got to write her obituary, not the other way around.”

Shelly Lubben dies of an overdose in a trailer part and you see yourself as a winner.

There is definitely an important lesson to be learned here. Think about it for a few minutes, it will come to you.

  20. You're right; I could have put that better. However, she made our debate into a street fight, not I. She is the one who went out of her way to falsely accuse me of trying to kill her, for instance. It was she who bragged endlessly about her "perfect life", and how I was jealous of her. I was still a bit raw about that stuff when I typed that comment. I'm human. But, looking at it now, I'm not happy with it.

    1. Yeah, I understand. I feel I owe you an apology for what I wrote. I don’t know you and I don’t know enough to comment on your motives. I reacted out of affect. Shelly and I were close as children, but lost touch with each other when we started high school. As a child she was creative, warm, intelligent and a good friend to me. I still have some of the poems we wrote together in our “secret hideout” in her backyard 40 years ago. It is incomprehensible to me that she turned out way she did. What happened to her empathy and compassion? She had these qualities as a child, but lost them somewhere along the way. There is some part of me that wants to protect that child, a part that still sees that child in all the images scattered across the internet. It pains and saddens me to see what she became.

      Delete
  21. I have heard that many of Shelley's childhood friends contacted her family after her passing. I have seen a few of those messages of condolence. Since no one had contacted me directly, I did not think it was right to comment on them. They were very, very moving.

One of the themes that threads through those messages is that her mom and dad were caring people, as opposed to the way Shelley portrayed them to generate sympathy. It makes me proud to have presented their side of the story in episodes 3 & 4. But it's also confounding and angering to consider that Shelley did all that harm and caused all that pain to her own flesh and blood.

I don't have any answer as to what happened, beyond saying what Shelley herself said: that she had a lot of anger. Kids used to bully her and call her "Shelley with the big fat belly" and such. She wanted revenge. She had a kind of "equity with the world" hypothesis: since she had suffered it was now okay for her to take or do whatever she pleased at any time.

If you have any thoughts or other material you would like me to include to provide a fuller picture off Shelley, I will gladly do so. I will keep the identity of any private person a secret. But I do feel I must try to give the fullest picture. Up until now, it has only been high school friends of hers who have contacted me, and the stories begin after she was already a troublemaker and truant.

    1. I think you bullied her and murdered her. I mean after all, you stalked her your entire life...now what's next for you? Who is the next victim you prey on? For shame.

    2. LOL I "stalked her [my] entire life". I'm sorry to inform you, floor shitter, that words mean things. Stalking has a legal definition, and it does not apply to covering the news regarding a public figure -- especially one who had caused so much harm and been involved in so many legal actions (which are all public record).

Shelley Lubben never brought any legal charges against me because there were no real charges to bring. She did once try to get my videos removed from YouTube, but lost (naturally).

She once accused me (on a porn blog) of stalking her at The Rainbow Bar & Grill. This is actually a funny story. I was finishing dinner there (I lived three blocks away at the time), and she walked in with her entourage. Mind you, shelley lived 90 minutes away, in Bakersfield. But after walking in to my local restaurant AFTER me, she accused me of stalking her. And everyone laughed at her.

Furthermore, I'm 51 years old and I didn't even know who she was until about 8 years ago. Eff off.

  22. Your portrayal of Shelly seems to be an accurate representation of how her life played out. I have a few memories, but nothing that will add to, or change, the depiction of her in your documentation. My recollections of my time spent around her family (the 1970’s and the early 1980’s) are positive. There was a lot of laughter and conversation. Sure, we were told off on occasions, when we were up to something we shouldn’t have been, but I always felt at ease and accepted by her parents. From my perspective, as a child, it seemed to me that Shelly did too.

  23. What a tragic way to go. Hard to grasp how her life took such spiral downward these last few years. Can't make someone get help if they aren't willing to admit they have a problem. I admired for what she stood for in her early days of Pink Cross but as I came across videos Michael had posted the REAL Shelley was exposed. She was far from perfect but you don't treat people like crap and expect them to stand up and follow. She had it all and ended up with NOTHING & ALONE. Maybe someone should have written in to Dr. PHIL. Can you even imagine that show? Anyways I hope she is now free of pain and suffering and is at peace with Tiffany.

  24. You are correct MW. Im sorry your getting so much anger directed at you. Its always easier for people to blame others. I assume thats why Shelley’s family didn’t want an obituary online. I don’t think it was because they didn’t love her. They probably didn’t want the stress. Your the only one who has put her death online before anyone knew, so everyone’s anger is being unfairly directed at you instead. Im so sorry. You never did anything illegal (unlike Shelley). You spoke the truth. Like others, I think she meant well in the beginning and did help others, but as time went on pride got in the way. And by the way, I am 51 too. I think we gain alot of wisdom in our generation.

  25. Can you find anything out about Tiffany's death? I went to college with her and she kinda just left and obviously now I'm kind of shocked..

    1. Tiffany passed on Feb 4, and her death was ruled a suicide. Her remains were cremated, and that's all the information that is publicly available. May she rest in eternal peace.

  26. Has anyone asked her brother if Toxicology reports are in yet? Is there any word on how the girl's are doing? Have her parents spoken out and the sister no one has ever heard of? I am guessing as much as they loved her, they may feel she is not the person they grew up with. I hope, in time, the family can heal and trust. Hurricane Shelley, hopefully has left all the destruction she will leave and clean up can begin. Thank you for wading through this mess that no one wanted to see, but that had to be told.

    1. I am informed that toxicology results in Tulare County take about two months. I don't report on the daughters at all because 1) they're private citizens, and 2) victims of Shelley, but I sincerely hope they are well.

Shelley's parents commented on her passing on Facebook, but, again, I don't think it's up to me to broadcast their remarks without their express consent. Suffice it to say they are heartbroken; they wanted things to be different, but it was not meant to me -- that is the thrust of their statements. I do not know whether Shelley's sister has made any comment, but I can say that they were never close.

  27. Ain't cremation wrong for someone who was supposedly christian? That was a pagan method of disposing of the dead. In the middle ages.....cremating someone was an offence punishable by death as it was considered anti-christian.

    1. Admittedly, I'm not well versed on the propriety of cremation among modern protestants, I only know that the cremation was performed at the behest of her daughters.

    2. To the person that asked if cremation is wrong for Christians:
No. It's not. Burial was also used by pagans so that means nothing. And cremation was outlawed by the Catholic Church. There is nothing in the Bible that speaks on funerary practices and all funerary practices that included praise to a false god were outlawed--but that was already covered by the Decalogue and they did not give explicit instructions on funerary practices.

  28. Whiteacre you sad sack of shit. Are you happy now? No one in this world has the right to judge anyone. I've seen redemption through prison ministry with those thought forever lost. But you know something.................you will be in the judgement like everyone else and the blood is on your hands brother. Toast with a glass of wine you accomplished your. Being partially responsible for someones death is something I don't care to indulge in.

    1. Happy? About Shelley Lubben's death? Not at all. Where exactly do you see me celebrating? I asked people to pray for her and her victims.

One of the things that always cracks me up about people like you, floor shitter, is that you say in one breath that "No one in this world has the right to judge anyone", and that I'm someone whose sins (including being an uncaring person to the point of partially using someone's death) are so bad that I need to fear the coming judgement.

I sleep just fine, shit toucher, because I told the truth. Everything I ever said about Shelley Lubben was true -- and then some; only now is the full truth being revealed, and it's horrifying. I suppose you would be happier if this sociopath had been free to prey on more people without the impediment of my revelations.

One last thought: if someone is so rotten inside that the fact that the TRUTH about them has been revealed is enough to drive them to their grave, then I don't think we as a society should miss them very much. It means that they stood in opposition to the truth, to reality, to goodness and honesty, and -- having been given the choice to repent and redeem themselves -- refused to save themselves.

I didn't make Shelley Lubben an addict. I didn't make her mentally ill. I did everything I could to cut off her supply of enablers, but she fought against this effort and died in a filthy trailer in the middle of nowhere. There's plenty of blame to go around, and I lay that blame at the feet of people like you who made (and continue to make) excuses for disgusting, un-Christian, unhealthy, criminal behavior, who propped her up as a role model, and who covered up her crimes and sins. You all gave her reason to NOT get help. Her blood is on your hands, not mine, brother.

Uh yeah right. She definitely had her demons which were never fully exorcised from her life. Perhaps she was dishonest in the end and betrayed and hurt others. But for you to ruthlessly attack her driving her self esteem and self worth down even deeper wasn't appropriate. Her sins and her life was between her and God. To expose corruption I agree with, but not constantly demonizing her to the ends of the earth. I'm working with a woman right now in prison who manufactured meth, robbed people, hurt others ruthlessly. But getting to know her and not being judgmental she is seeing her self worth, changed her attitude, and is turning her life completely around. Versus constant condemnation over her past. Your still name calling her even after her death. Oh your concern now is just heartbreaking. Your just another bottom feeding journalist who gloats over destroying someones reputation. Floor shitter? You don't even know me. If you did I seriously doubt you would be spouting off like that. To devote an entire website bent on destroying someone is really pathetic. Use that energy to derail the porn industry. Did you read about the two recent porn stars who OD'd? Sad that anyone would support an industry that destroys young lives for profit. Trust me unless your a soul less human being this will come back to haunt you. My guess is your a far leftist living in California like so many do anything and everything to make Trumps life miserable. Now that you see that you played a role in the destruction of another human being your sympathetic violin is playing another tune.

    1. 1) I'm a libertarian, not a leftist.

      2) I have not lived in California for years, although I visit now and again.

      3) I do not demonize Shelley Lubben, for to do so misses the point. She was a human being -- a very sick, narcissistic, self destructive human being.

      4) I did not condemn her past, I pointed to her past (AS SHE DID) as the source for answers. However, i revealed a different answer: that, despite her claims, she had not changed or evolved, or learned from her mistakes. As a person struggling with addiction and mental illness, she was imprisoned by her past. This -- and the fact that enablers kept her going right up to the end -- is the tragedy of Shelley Lubben.

      5) If you blame the porn industry for the deaths of two people who O.D.'d, then you must blame Christianity and the anti-porn movement for the death of Shelley Lubben, and the music industry and all of mainstream entertainment for the deaths of everyone who ever sought fame there. Blame literature for the deaths of Burroughs, Hemingway, Thompson. Shelley Lubben was an addict who refused to get treatment. Her mental and physical health failed. The end.

  30. Your journalism goes beyond reporting. Yours is based on unhealthy obsession. From court documents, to pictures of the various medications she was allegedly taking, Whiteacre has shown a consistent and — to be frank, strange — level of interest in Lubben.

Anyone who is familiar with my work, and my integrity, knows that I’m all about ‘truth.’ I’m a naturally sensitive and compassionate person, but at the end of the day, facts rule — and people who are being exploited, deserve justice.

That said, while I appreciate Whiteacre, and others, bringing to light the failings, hypocrisy, and exploitation that many have suffered at the hands of Lubben, I don’t understand why his crusade for ‘truth’ continued long after Lubben closed her charity in 2015.

One must wonder…what is Whiteacre’s ‘motivation’ for spending over 7 years of his life relentlessly documenting and publicly airing one person’s every mistake, bad decision, or ‘dirty piece of laundry’? (His answer has always been about ‘truth’, apparently. I feel there must be something more personal brimming underneath…)

    1. You write, "I don’t understand why his crusade for ‘truth’ continued long after Lubben closed her charity in 2015".

It's very simple, and the reasons fall into two categories. In the first category, she was still hurting others: a) she was still soliciting money privately, through Facebook and the like -- essentially stealing from people; b) her lies were still being disseminated online -- lies about her own family, and about people in the adult industry; c) out of spite she was trying to destroy the lives of her ex-husband and his wife, and Garrett asked me to help him.

The second category is, she was hurting herself. The plan, which members of her family supported, was to cut off her supply chain of enablers by exposing the truth. Her family wanted her to get help, but Shelley had no motivation to get help as long as people were telling her she was a prophet, or a warrior for God, or a hero.

I did a pretty good job, but in the end it wasn't enough. Her fellow anti-porn crusaders covered up for her and refused to speak up. They could have made the most difference, but they were silent.

Also, "relentlessly documenting" things is a strange way of putting it. Look at this blog. There were, at times, many months between posts. Why is that? Because I only posted when she did something, or when something remarkable happened in her life. I wasn't hounding her. Was I not supposed to mention that the home of a a so-called Christian "prophet" exploded in a drug lab fire? Or that she had threatened a local single mom with murder? Your lack of compassion for others is stunning.

  32. In conclusion You also showed no respect for her family who probably suffered great humility from all this. My gut feeling is the porn industry most likely funded this relentless attack on someone jeopardizing their livelihood. Say its so..............please? It would highly motivate me. To destroy a life.

    1. LMFAO Jeopardizing her livelihood? Who asked her to? She did it for fame, and in the process she destroyed her family, and God knows how many other lives -- a baby was burned in the drug lab fire at her house; another man is dead; her boyfriend in in prison . . . Not to mention her $30,000 in bad debts which will likely never be recovered.

No respect for her family? Members of her family helped me with this project. and I, unlike Shelley, NEVER used photos of her younger daughters and never will. It was Shelley who placed her family into the media spotlight, not I -- and with lies to boot.

I'm not funded by anyone. This site is a free blogspot domain. I haven't even purchased plug-ins for it. Moreover, in eight years I've only published less than 2 hours of finished video. There are YouTube vloggers who release more than that per week. My biggest expenses were gas money to and from the homes of the people I interviewed, and bottled water. I think I bought lunch once or twice. I mean, honestly, does this look like a big budget enterprise?

  33. You write: "I'm working with a woman right now in prison who manufactured meth, robbed people, hurt others ruthlessly. But getting to know her and not being judgmental she is seeing her self worth, changed her attitude, and is turning her life completely around." That's great. Except 1) I'm not a minister; and 2) Shelley already went through that process. She went to church, stopped drinking (although she never was truly sober), had a family, set up a ministry . . . and she threw it all away. Why? Because she was never truly recovered. Her own family will tell you that. Going to church wasn't enough, and in fact it probably hurt her. She was a con artist who used her time in church to learn how to fleece a new flock. She was an addict who eschewed recovery. She suffered from mental illness but rejected therapy because a voice in her head that she thought was God told her she was fine; and that it was okay to keep drinking and popping pills because it made adult performers "relate" to her; and that she had special dispensation to sin -- to lie in the name of a good cause; and that she was the prophet Elijah.

I'm not "being judgmental" by pointing out these things, I'm being factual.

This is a problem I see with so many "Christians" -- the total rejection of the use of discernment to name and call out false prophets and fake Christians within the church. It is your DUTY to do so. But not only have you failed to do your duty, you now attack those who did the job for you. Shame on you.

  34. I think the truth has finally revealed itself. Michael is GUILTY of murder. Pure and simple.

Ain't it strange how he was first to report this story? How he knew the area, went back to the trailer park and even knew his way around the trailer itself? Classic example of the killer returning to the scene. Also Michael was well aware of her constant pill usage.

Michael managed to obtain a spare key to the trailer from the park owners office, he had a copy of it made and returned the original before anyone noticed.

Some days later at night, when Shelley was out, Michael crept into her trailer using the cut key and switched out one of her pills for another that was 8x the strength of the others, before leaving and re-locking the door.

It was only a matter of time over the coming weeks she would pop the fatal pill.

    Case CLOSED. Michael killed her.

  36. How is he guilty of murder? He didn’t kill her. He merely exposed her lies and deception. Her fraud and greed. It wasn’t porn that killed Shelley she chose to do porn. Whiteacre didn’t kill her either. Last time I checked there is a such a thing in this nation that is called free press and that is what he did. No more different than Dateline or 20/20. He brought down this dishonest humanoid just like Bernie Madoff was brought down. Before Whiteacre came along how many more people would have suffered? Who else would have gotten ripped off? Whiteacre stopped a massive fraud effort in it’s tracks. And you people better watch what you say about Jewish people you might just be held accountable by a higher authority.
