There is an update in the matter of Shelley Lubben's cause of death in the early morning of Feb. 9, 2019.
I have not yet received the Tulare County Coroner's report, which details Ms. Lubben's overall physical health, blood alcohol level, and any other substances that were present in her system at the time of her passing, but the direct cause of death is cardiovascular failure via pulmonary embolism, causing cardiac arrest.
And contrary to the claims of conspiracy theorists, the coroner has determined that her death was neither a suicide nor a homicide.
A pulmonary embolism (PE) is a blockage in the pulmonary artery, which supplies the blood to the lungs. PE is a general term referencing a series of diseases and clinical syndromes which are caused by various emboli (endogenous and exogenous) blocking the pulmonary arterial system, whose clinical symptoms are various.
Her family and associates say that Shelley Lubben had no known heart or lung problems. She was receiving medical care but had not been prescribed any medication to treat cardiovascular issues. She did suffer from gastric issues, and had been prescribed Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium), a proton pump inhibitor that blocks acid production in the stomach and is used to treat stomach and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease.
Shelley Lubben was only 50 years old; she was sleeping, not exerting herself -- what might have caused her sudden death?
Although her cause of death has been determined to have not been an overdose, as was originally stated by the 9-1-1 responders, long-time drug and/or alcohol abuse, and withdrawal, are likely elements.
Shelley had been hospitalized days earlier (on the night of Feb. 4) suffering from withdrawal.
Chronic alcohol abuse can cause alcoholic cardiomyopathy (ACM), which can lead to congestive heart failure or pulmonary embolism.
ACM is a kind of disease that has typical hemodynamic change, symptoms, signs and imaging findings of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM), but its symptoms can be released or cured after 4-8 weeks of giving up drinking. If Shelley Lubben had stopped drinking, it was for far less time than that -- less than one week.
And alcohol abuse is also linked to DCM.
It should also be noted that pulmonary complications due to drug abuse are common.
Shelley Lubben (1968 - 2019)
Shelley Lubben, the controversial anti-porn crusader and founder of the Pink Cross Foundation was discovered dead on the morning of Feb. 9, in her cramped trailer in Lemon Cove, Calif. She was 50 years old.
After examining Shelley's remains, and inspecting the scene, 9-1-1 responders told the man who found her, and later informed Shelley's father and brother, that she had passed due to an apparent overdose. Shortly after her death, the man who found her (who also made off with her Jeep and her iPhone), began peddling the story that Ms. Lubben had died of a stroke. This story has now been conclusively proven false. A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of the brain is interrupted or reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and nutrients. A hemorrhagic stroke occurs when a weakened blood vessel in or on the surface of the brain ruptures. Mrs. Lubben did not die of a stroke.
There were three active restraining orders against Ms. Lubben at the time of her passing, a warrant was expected to be issued for her arrest in a criminal threat case, she was being sued by creditors, and had been named in a wrongful death action.
Lubben's scandal-plagued Pink Cross Foundation was shuttered in January 2016.
Tulare County, CA -- Shelley Lubben, the controversial anti-porn crusader and founder of the Pink Cross Foundation was discovered dead Saturday morning, Feb. 9, of what 9-1-1 responders have called an apparent overdose. She was 50 years old.
Tulare County Sheriffs notified her parents via telephone shortly after arriving on the scene.
Shelley Lubben (1968-2019)
Mrs. Lubben had long claimed to be sober since the year 2000, saying that she had been miraculously cured of all her physical and mental infirmities after turning to God.
"He has completely restored me. I am totally free from drugs, alcohol, bad memories, mental illness, sexual trauma, guilt from the past, and everything from the old life. He even healed me from the non-curable disease herpes,” Shelley once proclaimed.
In reality, after falling off the wagon in 2005 and surrounding herself with enablers, she spiraled into a world of alcohol and prescription drug abuse which ravaged her body and mind.
On January 24, Ms. Lubben placed her 1974 Sierra Cabin Cruiser up for sale on craigslist, asking $3,500. In the description she noted, "There has been a lot of work on the boat and it's actually worth more but need to sell due to illness so am asking a much lower price than what I paid."
According to statements made in open court in Vista, Calif. on February 5, on the night previous Ms. Lubben was admitted to a hospital in San Diego for treatment of alcohol withdrawal. She returned to Tulare County after being discharged.
At the time of her death, Lubben resided in a Lemon Cove, Calif. trailer park. It was there that she was found unresponsive by a male friend who had thought she was sleeping.
He phoned 911 and began CPR, but when responders arrived they informed him that it was too late. Shelley Lubben was pronounced dead on the scene.
After examining Shelley's remains, and inspecting the scene, responders informed the friend, and later told Shelley's father and brother, that she had passed due to an apparent overdose. The Tulare County coroner will have the final word regarding the official cause of death.
Lubben's scandal-plagued Pink Cross Foundation was shuttered in January 2016.
Shelley Lubben is survived by her parents; a younger sister and brother; two daughters; a grandson; and a boyfriend currently serving a California prison term for DUI hit-and-run Vehicular Manslaughter.
Ms. Lubben's eldest daughter Tiffany, a wedding photographer, passed away earlier in February, at age 30.
Shelley Lubben's remains were taken to the Evans Miller Guinn Exeter Chapel. Ms. Lubben is to be cremated next week, and her ashes scattered. No obituary has been posted to the funeral home's website, and, at the request of her surviving daughters, no services are planned.
Please join me in praying that Shelley Lubben can now find the peace that eluded her in life, and that her victims can likewise find peace and relief.
Springville, Calif -- On February 3, 2019, disgraced anti-porn crusader and notorious pill-popping drunkard Shelley Lubben violated a court order to issue criminal threats against a local woman, including vows to file false charges with Child Protective Services (CPS) as well as a death threat.
Here is a recording of that profanity-laced telephone call:
Note that Shelley Lubben brags about working "with the FBI" -- something that no one who actually works with the FBI would ever, or could ever, reveal.
The victim in this case is a local single mom who had once lived under the same roof as Shelley Lubben -- before Lubben was kicked out of the house for "erratic behavior and constant drinking." Ms. Lubben currently resides in a Lemon Cove, Calif. trailer park.
The victim has since received a temporary restraining order against Lubben, and the Tulare County District Attorney has picked up the felony Criminal Threat case. An arrest warrant is expected to be issued soon.
In related news, a separate three-year restraining order (the maximum permitted under California law) was issued against Shelley Lubben on January 29 in Tulare Superior Court. Lubben did not appear in court that day, but had been served with the civil harassment Temporary Restraining Order while she drank at the Antlers Roadhouse Thursday afternoon, January 3.
The order was granted after another local woman (then housemate of the woman whose life was threatened by Shelley Lubben) petitioned the court on behalf of herself and her 13-year old daughter, detailing "continuous and ongoing" threats and harassment since Lubben was told to leave their premises in November due to her "erratic behavior and constant drinking".
The Petition and supporting documentation filed Jan. 2 by the Springville woman also alleged incidences of theft, vandalism, trespassing, intimidation, and driving under the influence by Shelley Lubben.
Constant drinking
While claiming to be a Christian minister of the gospel, as well as a holy prophet, Ms. Lubben has publicly asserted that she has been sober -- and miraculously cured of all her physical and mental infirmities -- for nearly two decades.
It is notable that Shelley Lubben was served at a bar just one day after she told a Bakersfield court that she had the flu and was too ill to attend the proceeding.
TRO issued and Proof of Service filed with the court.
The following statement from the victim was filed with the court along with the petition for the order against harassment. It is quite devastating. (Please excuse the quality of the following images; I don't have a document scanner where I am right now and had to rely on photographs of the pages.)
"Shelley Lubben has made threats of violence to me and threats to me through family and friends . . . . The harassment has been continuous and ongoing since she was asked to leave my residence a month ago due to her erratic behavior and constant drinking. She has caused damage to my property and [a] neighbors' because she would operate her vehicle extremely intoxicated. . . ."
The victims' statement also alludes to Lubben's New Year's Eve trespass on the grounds of the victims' home, which resulted in a report being taken by Deputy E. Lemoine of the Tulare County Sheriffs on Dec. 31 -- the third report taken by the sheriffs while investigating claims that Mrs. Lubben has trespassed, robbed and vandalized the home and/or grounds, as well as harassed and threatened the residents.
The following exhibits were filed along with the petition for the temporary restraining order. They document an extremely manipulative and downright creepy series of text messages between Lubben and her former friend's 13-year old daughter. She attamepts to bribe the minor into letting her break into her mom's house.
Along the way, Lubben also appears to acknowledge her own notorious addiction to benzodiazepine tranquilizers.
Yet another restraining order
Shelley Lubben had a third restraining order issued against her in San Diego County on February 5, and that event will be the subject of its own blog post.
REVEALED: Creepy text conversations between Lubben and a 13-year old girl where the disgraced anti-porn crusader sounds eerily like a child predator

This action makes FOUR active court cases involving the disgraced anti-porn crusader and notorious pill-popping drunkard (see below).

A hearing date of January 29, 2019 has been set for this case, before The Honorable Glade F. Roper.
The creepy, predator-like messages are reminiscent of the testimony of these women:
Lubben apparently went into hiding after New Year's Eve, when she was caught prowling around and trespassing the property of her ex-housemates. She no-showed at her court date in Kern County Superior Court on Wednesday afternoon, Jan 2, after informing her ex-husband's attorney that she had the flu but no doctor's note to prove it.
That ongoing case centers on Ms. Lubben's 2017 attempt to re-open her divorce case and get her hands on the Mexican timeshare property she ceded to him in their 2016 divorce.
In other words, Shelley Lubben no-showed at her own proceeding -- a hearing that was scheduled months ago after a series of continuances in the matter.
Her ex-husband's attorney told the court she believes Lubben was lying to avoid court, and it most seems clear that she was. The prevailing theory is that Lubben was afraid to show up in court, either because she will face a difficult cross examination, or because she feared being served with more legal papers.
It turns out, she had every reason to be afraid.
Multiple witnesses confirm that Lubben -- an all-day drinker who soils herself when she doesn't get her alcohol in time -- is seriously on the skids. A few days ago she arrived extremely intoxicated at a Springville cafe -- so intoxicated that they refused to serve her the alcohol she requested.
A history of harassment
In 2011, former adult performer Michelle Avanti filed for an order of protection against Shelley Lubben in Tulare County Superior Court in Visalia, and provided evidence that Lubben had begun threatening and harassing her when she fled Lubben's sham nonprofit Pink Cross Foundation and appeared in a video exposing Lubben as a manipulative, abusive addict. Official records indicate that Lubben had Pink Cross file two false complaints with Child Welfare Services, in an attempt to make Avanti lose custody of her young daughter.
Four cases in three counties
Last year, Lubben was sued for wrongful death by the family of cyclist Octavio Munguia, who was killed in a DUI hit-and-run collision with Shelley Lubben's car while her boyfriend Joe Valley was behind the wheel. The next hearing date in Tulare County Superior Court for that case is January 23.
She has also been served by her ex-husband in a harassment case in San Diego County, in which her ex and his new wife seek protection from Lubben's ongoing threats and harassment. The next court date in that case is February 5, and this author has been called to testify.
Wednesday's hearing in Kern County was continued until June 20. However, the judge stated that if Mrs. Lubben cannot provide a doctor's note, the case will be dismissed. The fact that Lubben was served with papers at a BAR the following day is a huge development.
As one can see, Shelley Lubben has quite a busy court calendar in 2019, and it's getting fuller by the day.

No one I spoke to in the Springville and Visalia areas (where Lubben resides) believes for a second that she is actually suffering from a cold or flu -- that is to say unless she caught one while prowling around and trespassing the property of her ex-housemates on New Years Eve.

Visalia, Calif. -- Here at The Devil And Shelley Lubben, we talk a lot about justice, but we also hope to spread peace love and joy, and -- with the Holiday Season is upon us -- some good cheer as well.
Behold disgraced anti-porn and anti-prostitution crusader Shelley Lubben's "sugaring" profiles. Sugaring, as we know, is the "wink-wink" version of prostitution. There's a legal distinction between the two, granted, but not an ethical one. In practice they are generally the same thing.
As author and sex work activist Maggie McNeill writes:
Sugaring . . . is just underpaid escorting. This isn’t to say that it’s impossible to find decent long-term patrons on Seeking Arrangement and other such platforms; I have an ad there myself, as do several of my friends, because their “no escorts” policy is a laughable smoke screen designed to hide the fact that sugaring is a form of sex work.
Sugaring sites have always been littered with sex worker profiles, and many more sex workers have turned to these sites in the wake of the government crackdown on online sex adverts.
For this reason, the government has run prostitution stings on sugaring websites.
Shelley Lubben spent the last 15 years shaming, defaming and excoriating sex workers of all shades; she made it her career and was one of many hypocrites who profited off of them while doing so.
Here are two of Shelley Lubben's known "sugar dating" profiles:
I am a beautiful and intelligent woman who is educated, has traveled the world, loves fine dining and yet I am also very adventurous and spontaneous. I'm seeking a male companion with a great personality and who is generous and loves to spoil. I love to spoil back! I love to cook, am outdoorsy but also love to glam up and enjoy a night on the town. I have three degrees and one is at a Doctorate level. I am also an author and enjoy writing books, short stories and poetry as well enjoy music and play guitar. I love to laugh and have a very dynamic personality. I am easy going and stay away from drama. I will pamper the man who pampers me. I am very generous, caring and authentic. I hope I'm what you are looking for in a beautiful woman.
What I'm Looking For
The companion I seek is someone who has similar qualities to me:
funny
fun
adventurous or spontaneous
loves to travel
enjoys fine dining and seeing new places
loves the finer things in life
has a sweet temperament
loves to spoil and be spoiled back
a man who is generous and classy
preferably a man who owns or runs his own business and has means
someone who will cuddle with me and who is sensual
If that's you please don't hesitate to message me
As you can see, Shelley -- who is 50 not 45, and looks far older in person -- has an unjustifiably high opinion of herself. Her self-description and moniker "realprettyblonde" remind me of one of her business cards from her porn and prostitution days in Southern California in the 1980s and 90s.
Remember all of this the next time someone tells you how Shelley Lubben is a changed woman.
Munguia v. Lubben is the kind of case that can net a multi-million dollar judgement in California.
Visalia, Calif. -- The family of cyclist Octavio Munguia, who was killed in a DUI hit-and-run collision with Shelley Lubben's car while her boyfriend Joe Valley was behind the wheel, has sued the couple for wrongful death in Tulare County Superior Court.
Shelley Lubben and Joe Valley on the road
A death on the highway
On November 7, 2017, Joe Valley left the home he shared with disgraced anti-porn crusader Shelley Lubben in a PT Cruiser she had purchased, and insured through USAA. Official reports and local sources say Valley was out running errands for Lubben, and was supposed to attend his court-ordered Domestic Violence class.
What he accomplished that day is not known, but what we do know is that he drank at a local bar, The Antlers Roadhouse, and witnesses state Valley was already intoxicated when he arrived in his car.
The Antlers
It was after he left that his car ran down Munguia on Balch Park Road south of Battle Mountain Road.
Valley told Highway Patrol investigators he had been drinking at a Lake Success earlier that day, but made no specific mention of visiting The Antlers (which stands near the lake's northeastern edge).
Following the fatal collision, Valley drove the 2005 PT Cruiser straight home to the property on Balch Park Road where he resided with Lubben. Shortly after his wrecked vehicle returned to the Lubben Ranch, Shelley Lubben got behind the wheel of her Jeep and drove off the property alone.
Lubben then flagged down a neighbor, and told the woman that she was her "witness" that Lubben was leaving home at that time, and then drove off.
This struck the neighbor as odd, and she told an investigator for the victim's family that Shelley Lubben was intoxicated and looked like she hadn't showered in days at the time she flagged her down.
Highway Patrol officers arrested Valley on Lubben's ranch property, and took him to jail. But because she had already left, they were unable to interview Lubben, who had driven to a friend's house.
It wasn't until the following morning that Highway Patrol got a statement from Shelley Lubben -- under circumstances that were objectively suspicious.
It turned out that one of Mrs. Lubben's iPhones was in the car that killed Octavio Munguia.
The presence of Lubben's cell phone in the vehicle was discovered after the wrecked PT Cruiser had been brought toWallace Towing on Orange Belt Drive in Porterville. It was there that Shelley Lubben was interviewed by the California Highway Patrol, when she came to retrieve her iPhone on November 8.
On October 12, 2018, Joe Valley was sentenced to 11 years in a California state prison for Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated and Leaving the Scene of an Accident in the criminal case of the DUI hit-and-run killing of Mr. Munguia.
The following screenshots come from the Tulare County Superior Court website.
The following file copy of the Summons and Complaint is dated February 2018, so perhaps the family re-filed in September.
It asserts (accurately) that Shelley Lubben entrusted her vehicle to Valley. In this instance, Valley was running errands for Lubben. He also had a history of driving while intoxicated, of which Lubben was well aware.
The Munguias' suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages.
USAA is representing the indigent, incarcerated Valley.
